Her natural holistic lifestyle runs in the family, and goes back several generations with her mother and grandmothers before her. These strong roots led Amythest to continue her studies in herbalism and spend her college years studying Environmental science, and sustainable agriculture while deepening her skills with several internships alongside renowned organic farmers throughout Sonoma County and the Bay Area.

Her expansive experience includes work as a native plant specialist at Ya-Ka-Ama native plant nursery. She has done restoration work with the Northern California Indian Development Council while also holding the garden manager for the Healthy Traditions diabetes prevention program. There she developed a 5 acre site where she planted fruit trees, grew organic produce, cultivated Ca native basketry plants and nurtured a medicine garden utilizing the edges as place of abundance and habitat for pollinators and other beneficial insects.

She also led health and nutrition circles and worked directly with patients in the garden. Later in her career she grew organic produce for a Buddhist organization in Lake County before moving back to Sonoma county to attend Farm School at the Permaculture Skills Center. Amythest then went on to become a UC California certified naturalist. She is looking forward to teaching the Sacred Earth Intensive with Starhawk this spring. Amythest considers herself a bridge builder, and is passionate about the intersection of food systems and food sovereignty.

She believes in multi generational healing, youth education, hands on learning, mindful interactions and cultivating joy in our daily routines as a spiritual practice. She makes a point of this by being present and thankful, planning from pattern to detail, and focusing on the magic of the natural world around us. Amythest is honored to bring her wisdom and skills to Golden Rabbit Ranch as the new land steward and garden manager. She is excited to continue to learn and grow while practicing holistic land management on the ranch, and is thrilled to be stepping into the position of Earth activist training coordinator.

His approach simultaneously promotes both preservation of wild spaces and conservation of the domestic. His deep respect for and relationship with the divine in nature informs all he does, integrating spiritual practices with land management.
